Whiten Teeth With Charcoal Without The Mess

Have you heard of activated charcoal? Activated charcoal has been popping up everywhere. It’s in face masks, body scrubs, shampoos, and now dental products, including whitening toothpaste and toothbrushes. I’ve been curious about charcoal toothpaste. I’ve seen a few videos of people using the powder as toothpaste, but it looks kind of messy so I never had an urge to actually try it. However, I just found out that Crest made a charcoal toothpaste that offers a better way to charcoal, and I was super excited to try it!

What is Activated Charcoal?

Activated charcoal is also known as activated carbon. It is not the charcoal used in your barbecue grill. Instead, it is a fine, black, odorless powder produced by produced by heating high-carbon products like wood to extremely high temperatures to increase its absorptive properties. Activated charcoal is so effective because it aggressively absorbs tannins, which are the compounds found in coffee, tea, tobacco, herbal teas, blueberries, wine, spices, and other foods that stain teeth.

In the past, people would use activated charcoal in powder form to brush their teeth. The process was pretty messy in my opinion. Luckily, that is no longer necessary thanks to products like Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal.

Although this toothpaste is formulated and striped with Charcoal, it won’t turn your mouth black.

Charcoal Strip - Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal

This toothpaste gently whitens teeth by removing surface stains. Don’t be fooled though, this is more than just a whitening toothpaste. It really deep cleans your teeth. It has a great minty flavor. After using it, my teeth felt incredibly clean and slick. It also contains fluoride that remineralizes weakened enamel to help strengthen teeth and fight cavities. I haven’t been using it for that long, but I really like it so far.

If using a toothpaste that contains charcoal is not your thing, you should consider another new toothpaste offering from Crest. They recently released their 3D White Whitening Therapy with Coconut Oil

Like the charcoal version, this toothpaste helps to gently remove stains from the surface of your teeth. It also contains fluoride to strengthen the enamel.

The first thing I noticed about this toothpaste was the vanilla mint flavor. I noticed a faint taste of coconut oil. It’s not overpowering, but it’s there. It did leave my teeth feeling clean, but I prefer toothpaste that has a stronger mint flavor.

Want to try this toothpaste for your self? Well ,you’re in luck. For a limited time, Amazon is offering $2 off both the Crest 3D White Charcoal and Crest 3D White Coconut Oil toothpaste.
