Great Tips To Help You Tackle Your Holiday Shopping List

This post on tackling your holiday shopping list is sponsored by The Mills at Jersey Gardens.

Let’s face it, December tends to be a busy and often stressful month. There are numerous activities, parties, and holiday decorations that need your attention, so when it comes to knocking out those items on your holiday shopping list, you’re going to need a plan.

The Christmas tree at The Mills at Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall - the place to tackle your holiday shopping.

The first step is to create a list of everyone you need to purchase a gift for, then do some browsing online, in sales flyers that come in the mail, or advertisements in the Sunday newspaper. An important part of strategic shopping is to get some great ideas for everyone on your gift list before you head to the store. Once you have your list, it’s time to get in gear and tackle your holiday shopping, just remember to stick to your list and not give in to impulse purchases.

There are a number of strategies you can use to help you save money on your purchases. For example, you can sign up for programs such as eBates, Shopkick, and iBotta, to earn cash back or rewards when you use the app to make a purchase. Saving money is easy with many of these user-friendly apps, so a little time learning about the various programs can pay off with some serious savings this holiday season.

Many stores also offer loyalty programs and it’s quick and easy to sign up online. These loyalty programs typically offer special savings for preferred customers and you’ll even get advance notice of upcoming sales.

Of course, choosing the right sales and discount stores can also help you stay on budget. Shopping at outlet malls can be an excellent way to save money while also getting all of your holiday shopping done in one convenient location. The Mills at Jersey Gardens, located in Elizabeth, New Jersey is my outlet mall of choice. They have many department stores there like Century21, Saks Off 5th, and Neiman Marcus Last Call, as well as independent outlet stores where you can find deals on great quality gifts for everyone on your list. Did I mention deals? A few weeks ago, I joined in on a White Elephant gift exchange at the mall.

During this gift exchange, we saw amazing gifts that looked like they cost at least $50 but were snagged for only $25– such as – an Alex and Ani scarf, multiple Sephora gift sets, a Kate Spade Wallet, and a travel lover’s gift set from Burlington! You can really stretch your budget when you shop at The Mills at Jersey Gardens. Simply set aside a day to do all of your shopping and you’ll be able to tackle your holiday shopping list in one fell swoop, without blowing your budget. They’re open as late at 10 pm and 11 pm (see hours here) for your convenience.
