How To Get Longer Lashes At Home

This is a sponsored  post for Physicians Formula through Conde Nast.

A few years ago, I attended an event where they were offering complimentary beauty services and makeovers.  The makeup artist who did my makeover did a really good job applying my makeup.  She went all out and even applied false eyelashes.  The longer lashes looked good and made me feel glamorous. I enjoyed them for a few days, knowing that I would never purchase them myself, let alone try to apply them myself.

Recently though, I started hearing about lash extension mascara,  There are a few different brands out there, but the only one I’ve tried is the new Physicians Formula Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit.  Although I had heard about lash extension mascara, I never dared to try them, until the brand offered to send me a kit so that I could try it out.Get Longer Lashes At Home

The Physicians Formula Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit consists of two separate products; a hyper-volume mascara and a tube of brush-on lash extension fiber. The idea is that you lay on a couple coats of mascara and then stroke on the fibers so they stick to your lashes and extend out beyond them. After that, you run one more coat of mascara to tie everything together and even out the color on your lashes from end to end. It’s super easy to apply.

The first time I tried it,  it didn’t work out so well.  I washed it off and tried again, but this time I actually took time to read the directions and took my time doing it. Now that was where the amazing transformation thing finally kicked in.  If you want to get longer lashes at home, this is really worth it. Just remember to go slow and easy when applying your fiber and you’ll be in love.  Unfortunately, I found it ridiculously hard to get a good picture of my lashes, but you can kind of see the difference in the “after” photo below.

There are two things you should be aware of though.  It’s best to apply this BEFORE you do your makeup, because the black fibers wind up everywhere.  This product is hypoallergenic, paraben free, gluten free,  and fragrance free, but, if you have sensitive eyes, this may not be a good fit for you because the fibers may also wind up inside your eye which is what happened to me.

Want to try getting longer lashes at home too?  Then you should check out this product which is available at fine drug and mass-market stores nationwide.

  • I use Physician’s Formula for foundations but have never really tried their other range of cosmetics. I love how full and healthy these make your lashes look!

  • You can definitely see a difference in your before/after pics. I’m like you and have wanted longer, more glamorous lashes, but have never tried a product like this, although hearing about the different ones from all kinds of sources. Looks like something worth trying out.

  • That worked really well. I need to give this a try for some longer lashes on my next date night! I love adding some glamor to my look.
