Shopping For The #searsStyle #NYFW Blogger Brunch

New York Fashion week kicked off last week.  I have never really paid that much attention to fashion week in the past, I guess mostly because I have never been invited to any of the festivities surrounding fashion week.

This year however, things have changed a little.  I was invited to attend a blogger brunch hosted by Sears Style.  At first, I was a little taken aback because I would have never thought to combine sears and fashion together.  When I think of Sears, I think of all the times back in the day when my parents shopped there for appliances or stuff for the home!  I quickly discovered that Sears is more than just an appliance store.  It’s chock full of great fashionable clothing at affordable prices.

So, I went to Sears on a mission to find something fashionable to wear to the brunch.  One of the first designer fashions I encountered upon entering the store was the Kardashian Kollection line.

I had heard about their fashion line, and for some reason I thought their stuff would be over the top, but surprisingly it wasn’t.  They had lots of great dresses, but sadly I couldn’t find any that I really liked in my size.  Then I stumbled upon  their skinny jean collection and decided to grab a pair of The Kim women’s curvy jeans from the Kardashian Kollection so I could try them on.

At that point I pretty much decided that I would be wearing jeans to the brunch since you can easily dress up a nice pair of dark jeans with a nice top and a nice pair of shoes.  I saw another pair of skinny jeans that I liked as well from Canyon River Blues, so I grabbed that as well.

Next up I started to look for tops.

I saw a few that I liked and added them to the pile as well.  Then I headed on over to the fitting room.

The first thing I tried on was the Kim Women’s curvy Jeans.  I wasn’t sure I liked how they fit so I also tried on the Canyon River Blues Jeans.   I really liked how they fit and in my mind decided that I would probably go with those.

Then I tried on the tops.  I kept texting pictures of myself to my sister Cynical Blah to get her opinion and for her help in deciding on what I should wear.

I liked most of the tops, but what I liked even better was the prices.  Sears was having a huge sale at the time of my visit so just about everything I liked was on sale.  Score!

Stay tuned to see the outfit I decided to wear to the brunch.

  • I have shopped at Sears for clothes, but their petite selection is not that fabulous, so I don’t shop their as often as I’d like. All the tops look great on you!

    • Thank You. You are right, I did notice that their petite section was kind of small.

  • I love Sears. They have really come a long way from the days when they were know for mainly appliances. I loved all your outfits and can’t wait to see which one you picked.

  • looking good! 🙂 I love Sears because I shop online and then pick it up at their store~They even bring the items out to your car! That was great last Christmas when I was 32 weeks pregnant with twins!

  • How fun! Liked seeing you in all the different tops. I haven’t shopped at Sears for clothes since I was a teen, but it’s never too late to start up again!

  • Can’t wait to see what you chose! I have a fave but I don’t want to say in case it’s not one you picked LOL I haven’t shopped at Sears in a long time but I’m going to have to check them out!

  • I love the gray polka dot top on you, the others are great too but that one called to me. I’m a sucker for polka dots.

    • The grey polka dot shirt was on sale. It rang up at $6.99! I was surprised because the tag did not reflect that. When I looked so surprised, the cashier told me that it was a clearance item. Score!

  • Can’t believe you’re leaving us hanging! Curious to know what top you selected. I’ve never bought clothes for myself at Sears but I buy kids’ clothes there from time to time. Great prices!

  • Our Petite selection at the Long Island store is SUPER small, but I did find the Juniors section, and some of their stuff fits me very well.
I’m newly thin, and apparently the juniors section is now where I have to shop, even though I’m no junior!!!

Now if only I could find those Bongo jeans I adore so much……..

PS-LOVED the top you chose for the event. It looked so good with your brand new haircut!!!

    • Thank You Staci! I’ve never tried Junior’s sizes, because I assume that they would be too small. Hmm, I need to explore that section a bit.
