When you first get a new computer, it’s usually really fast. But over time as you download files and install software, it can start to slow down. Luckily, there are things you can do to speed up your PC.

Slow PC? Simple Tweaks And More To Speed Up Your PC

Uninstall unnecessary programs

Uninstall programs you rarely use, specifically those that launch when you boot the PC and run in the background. removing unused programs from your computer will help boost performance.

Restart your computer

Believe it or not, restarting your computer at least once a week can be very beneficial. As you perform basic actions on your device or computer, it stores the necessary data in the RAM or memory. A reboot will wipe that clean, allowing the system to start from scratch.

Defrag your computer

Try defragging your computer’s hard disk drive on a regular basis. Defragging rearranges fragmented data so your disks and drives can work more efficiently.

Install an Antivirus program

Viruses and malware can significantly decrease the overall speed of your PC. Investing in a quality antivirus program can help prevent your computer from getting viruses and malware.

Clean your PC

Accumulation of dust particulates on the CPU fan’s blades can eventually slow down the speed of your computer.

Upgrade your computer

Finally, the most effective way to speed up your PC is to add more memory. If you plan to go this route, opt for Intel® Optane™ memory. It is is a new class of memory that delivers accelerated performance without sacrificing storage capacity. Available in 16GB and 32GB modules, the unique technology employed in these chips boost the overall speed of your PC significantly. In order to use this, you need to have a PC that’s Optane Memory Ready.

Buy a new PC
Don’t have a PC that’s Optane Memory Ready? No problem! Why not purchase a brand new PC that has Intel® Optane™ memory built in? Office Depot has two models available right now that fill the bill.  First up is the HP Pavilion Desktop with Intel® Optane™ memory.

They also have the HP Pavilion All-in-One with Intel® Optane™ memory. Both of these PC’s process tasks at blazing speeds, allowing you to complete jobs that took hours on your old computer at a fraction of that time. This will free up your time. What would you do if you had more time on your hands? For me, I would spend more time with my family. My son is a huge movie buff. If I had more time, I’d take him to the movies more often.
