The Subscription Box Craze

Subscription boxes seem to be all the rage these days. It seems like I’m hearing about a new one popping up just about every single week. This has left me very curious and anxious to try them.

Subscription Gift Box

So what exactly is a subscription service? Basically, subscribers are sent a box of products every month for a fixed price, in the same way that people can subscribe to magazines or other publications. Like magazines, you can find a subscription box on just about any topic. The sheer range of items which can go into boxes is huge. The contents of these boxes are often curated by an expert on that particular topic, ensuring that the best quality items available are included.

Prices of subscription boxes can vary enormously, depending on the products being supplied. A basic subscription service can start at around $15 a month. If someone is subscribing to a clothing box, on the other hand, then prices can go up to as much as $300 or $400 a month.

I think one of the reasons that people are drawn to these types of subscriptions is the element of surprise that comes along with it; the fact that you never know what you’re going to find in your box, but you know that it will be a high quality product.

I’m planning on trying out some these subscription box services. I will probably start off with some of the beauty themed boxes like Julep and GLOSSYBOX first and continue from there.

Have you ever tried a subscription box? I am looking for recommendations so please let me know your thoughts.
