Using 20 Mule Team Borax To Freshen My Laundry

[Disclosure: I received a complimentary sample to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.]

Surprising as it may sound, doing the laundry is one of my favorite household chores. Although it may seem at times like a never ending cycle, I try my best to stay on top of it by doing the laundry several times per week. Luckily, there are only three of us in this household. What I don’t like, is when my clothes come out of the wash with stains and odors. It defeats the whole purpose of washing them!

I recently tried a new product, 20 Mule Team Borax, to try to address these issues. Photo Jun 28, 2 37 15 PMThis product is not a replacement to laundry detergent but a laundry booster to make the detergent more efficient. To truly test this product, I used it on Philip’s work clothes. I’m going to be honest, I was a little skeptical at first. I didn’t think anything would be able to get rid of that odor that had found its way into his work gear. I was so wrong! His clothes came out smelling very clean and fresh.

Once I saw how 20 Mule Team Borax actually worked, I wanted to understand why it accomplished things my regular detergent couldn’t. It turns out that the majority of U.S. households have hard water. Detergents don’t work very well in hard water and actually work best in soft water. The majority of us have to use a form of hard water. 20 Mule Team Borax has an ingredient that helps turns hard water into soft water, allowing for the detergent to work its magic.
