Want Better Hair? Nourish Your Scalp!

When it comes to hair products and hair care in general, I am somewhat obsessed.  No really!  I frequent hair forums like the Long Hair Community and the Long Hair Care Forum for tips, and new product recommendations, and have since also become a hair care product junkie.  Don’t believe me?  Check out the photo below.

My stash of shampoos and conditioners

This photo only shows some of the shampoos and conditioners I have on hand, and doesn’t even include the serums, gels, leave-ins etc.… that I have in stock!

My hair is very dry and somewhat damaged so I try lots of products.  I guess I’m searching for the holy grail shampoo and conditioner.

I’m always ready to try the next great product so when I learned about the new Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy products, of course I wanted to try them.  What really got me interested about this product line is the claim that it can restore the scalp’s natural moisture balance.  See all of the products that I currently have on hand are geared towards nourishing the hair and not the scalp.  I never really realized that I should also be focusing on the scalp.  By taking the time to nourish both the scalp and hair we can improve the health of the hair which will result in hair that is stronger, thicker and more manageable.   This makes total sense to me!

Products from the Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy line are infused with Nutrium 10, a rich blend of vitamins and nutrients including vitamins B5, C and E designed to nourish the scalp and hair deeply.

I was able to pick up the shampoo and conditioner at Duane Reade.

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Products

  • Damage and Color Repair (for damaged and colored hair)

They also have a line that is specially formulated for men.

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy for men

Since my hair is somewhat damaged from coloring and blow drying it, I decided to try the Damage & Color Repair shampoo and conditioner.  I also picked up one from the men’s line for Philip.

Me picking up the Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy - Damage & Color Repair

I tried the shampoo and conditioner out the very next morning and have to say that I really liked them.  Both the shampoo and conditioner are pretty creamy.  I would also like to note that they smell absolutely wonderful.  The conditioner had a lot of slip and left my hair completely tangle free. I dried my hair as usual and was happy with the way it came out. They left my hair feeling super smooth and silky.  I seriously kept running my fingers through my hair and was amazed at how soft and smooth it felt.

How my hair looked after using the Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy - Damage & Color Repair

So far I have only used the products twice, but I’m pretty sure I will continue to use it for a while.  That is, until the next new shampoo and conditioner line comes out.  What can I say, I’m a hair product junkie!

  • I am always looking for new affordable hair products to control the frizz. My hair gets really dry in the winter. Thanks for the info!

  • I love your hair! I have seen this product advertised on Facebook, and Bzzagent is doing a mission right now for it as well, but I didn’t get picked lol! Definitely something I’ll be looking out for, though!

  • If my hair wasn’t in locs, I would definitely try the product out. Before I did my locs, my hair was dry too at times and broke off and it was aggravating. Your hair looks really good.

  • I have not come across that brand yet but im a beauty junkie so i feel ya. My hair is so crazy difficult its oily at the roots and dry at the ends and a mess in between. I will be on the look out.

  • I am a total shampoo and conditioner junkie too, I will have to try this out. Your hair looks great!

  • I know ALL about the need to have a healthy scalp. I have a ridiculous amount of extremely thick, course hair so my scalp can’t release sweat well. I get psoriasis patches and it itches and bleeds and is just all around UNCOMFORTABLE. I am also always looking for a super-thick conditioner for my dry hair. I finally found something that I LOVE and it has added UV protection as well as thermal protection and it’s sulfate free too. Finding products you’re happy with is never easy!

  • I love to try new hair care products… I kind of feel like, one works for a while, and then zap — I need a change. Wish it was easier (ie you find one, you keep it) but advances in hair care are always happening…and there is always something better — well, at least I hope so!
