Have you had a chance to see the movie Wreck it Ralph yet? If not, you should really consider seeing it. Z.E.N. and I saw an advance screening of it and we both really enjoyed it.
In the movie, Ralph from the video game Wreck it Ralph, is known as a villain. He's been the villain in a Donkey Kong-type video game for the last 30 years. He is saddened by the fact that even after the arcade closes and he is no longer playing the villain role, the people around him still treat him as a villain. This is somewhat tragic as Ralph is really a decent man.
Because his Wreck it Ralph counterparts fear him so much, Ralph pretty much lives on his own. He sleeps on a bed of bricks in a garbage dump and yearns for the chance to prove he is truly not a “bad guy.” Ralph decides the best way to do this is to earn a medal in the game which will prove his hero status. In order to do this, Ralph has to leave the Wreck it Ralph game setting. Eventually Ralph winds up in a video game setting that resembles Mario-Cart. It is here that Ralph meets Vanellope von Schweetz who is a glitch in the game and also an outcast, the movie is as much about her as Ralph. We also meet Fix It Felix and Sergeant Calhoun at this point as Felix goes in search of Ralph and Calhoun who has realized that one of her bugs has ended up in the racing world and this could spell doom for the whole video game universe.
In the end, Ralph realizes his dilemma is not in wanting to be seen as a good person but in knowing how and being able to make the right decision—even if it's a horrible one.
All in all this was a great family movie. Disney has done it again.
