This particular amusement park caters to children of all ages, particularly younger children. Some of the rides are for children only, but there are a number of amusements that parents can go on with their kids. This makes it possible for the entire family to enjoy their time at the park together. During the summer, visiting families can also enjoy the Dutch Lagoon, a water theme park inside of Dutch Wonderland with water slides, pools, geysers and other entertaining features.
On the day we visited, we arrived early for the Merlin and Friends Character Breakfast. The breakfast was set up buffet style and we got to meet Princess Brooke, the Dutch Wonderland Knight, Duke and Merlin.
After breakfast, we were ready to explore the park. My son got to ride on a roller coaster for the first time ever and we all enjoyed the many, many rides available at Dutch Wonderland. I’d have to say that so far, this is one of our favorite amusement parks in PA.
Dutch Wonderland also has some special attractions coming up for Halloween and Christmas. The Halloween events include a trick or treat trail, Halloween themed rides and various exciting treats that will be revealed in further detail as Halloween approaches. The Christmas Wonder Land event includes rides, games, Christmas themed entertainment and a Royal Light Show that is sure to be enjoyed by children and parents alike.
The park is open every day during the summer months and on Weekends and holidays from October through December. Dutch Wonderland's Happy Haunting Halloween section is due to open the second weekend of October. Ticket prices are reasonable and families living in the area may want to consider obtaining a seasonal pass. All in all, this park has a lot to offer parents and children who want to kick back and have fun together in a safe and highly entertaining environment.
