As a family who loves to go on road trips, having a car we can rely on is extremely important.  We are a two car family.  We replaced one vehicle last year, but one of our vehicles is a bit older and getting much more costly to maintain. That vehicle is also a huge gas guzzler, so we are definitely in the market for a new car. That is why I was thrilled to be one of the very first people to see the brand new totally revamped 2017 Buick Encore.

You could definitely feel the excitement in the air as we waited for the big reveal.  In the meantime,  Duncan Aldred, Buick’s Global Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing gave a brief speech where he mentioned some of the company’s achievements and walked us through some of the many innovative features of their vehicles.

Finally, after much anticipation, the cover was removed and we were able to see the new 2017 Buick Encore. It’s a beauty!

They had two models on display, the above pictured above, as well as a white model.

Buick Encore is a small luxury SUV.  It is one of their best selling models and accounts for one third of Buick sales in North America. Naturally, because of its size, it tends to attract more female buyers. My very first car was an SUV and I have been driving them ever since. I can certainly see myself driving one of these!

2017 Buick Encore Changes

So, what has changed in the 2017 model?  A lot! 

First up is the exterior. It has been revised to create more of an upscale appearance. They added a new grille, new front headlamps, LED tail lights and new mirrors.

The interior has undergone some changes as well. The instrument panel now features an 8-inch color touchscreen. The infotainment system has also been updated. It now features both the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems so you can play all your tunes right through the car’s system. It also features a 4G LTE connection and a built-in WiFi hotspot. This is a great addition especially for families like me who travel with kids in tow.  I’m all for screen time limits, but being in a car for a long time with a whiny child is no fun so I’m happy that Buick has made it super easy for the kids to stay connected.

The 2017 Encore also offers a push-button start and keyless entry system which are great features.  I can’t count the number of times I’ve come out of the super market with a ton of groceries and had to juggle my bags to find my keys. A keyless entry and start means you’ll never have to search for your keys in your purse again.

Most importantly, the Buick Encore boasts several safety features including blind spot warnings, rear cross-traffic alerts, and lane departure warnings. I’m all about safety, especially when I am traveling with my family.

All in all, I think the 2017 Buick Encore is the perfect mid-sized SUV that would be suitable for moms, families and just about anybody!
