Many thanks to Kellogg’s® for sponsoring today’s story, and keeping me recharged with a tasty combination of protein and grains.
When I was in high school and college, I had to travel quite some distance to get to school. Because of this, I used to skip breakfast regularly. As a result, I found that I just couldn’t concentrate and always felt sluggish. It’s not until I was older that I realized the importance of eating breakfast. People need to know about the importance of breakfast and I’m so happy that Kellogg’s® has stepped up to get the word out about the importance of breakfast via their #CerealAndMilk campaign.
Kellogg’s® kicked off their campaign in a big way last week with the opening of the Kellogg’s® Recharge Bar in NYC and I am happy to say that I was there to witness it all. One of the main concepts of the Kellogg's® recharge bar was to promote healthy eating via two simple ingredients, milk and cereal. Grains from cereals were highlighted for their ability to provide energy. Milk was promoted as a viable form of protein. The Recharge bar was open to the public and featured special guests each day to help promote their message.
The bar offered a variety of cereals, as well as choice of milk.
To make the breakfast even more enjoyable, the bar offered a variety of toppings like coffee, strawberries, nuts, bananas, or cinnamon and apple.
The grammy award winning group The Roots performed live at the event and used cereal inspired items like bowls, spoons and milk jugs to create music. They also performed a catchy cereal and milk song with some young musicians from their former high school, The Center of Performing Arts in Philadelphia.
