A few weeks ago we were invited to go camping. I’m not really into camping, so when we found out we would actually be glamping, we jumped on it and were honored to drive down to the campgrounds in a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT via Drive Shop and #DriveMitsubishi. If you're looking for the perfect vehicle for summer adventures, you have to consider the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT. It's a compact SUV that delivers on all fronts to provide passengers with a comfortable ride no matter the distance. The Outlander comes in the ES, SE and GT trims with the last one being the most advanced model. Paired with the Touring Package, it delivers the best features and incredible value. We had the opportunity to test out the GT model for a week and really loved it. We drove it when we went Glamping, because why drive an old vehicle when you’re going luxury camping?

Ample Seating Capacity
Mitsubishi designed this vehicle with the family in mind. It can accommodate 7 people in three rows of seats. The third row though, seems more suited for kids as it’s slightly smaller and has less room. It was only the three of us so we really had no reason to use the third row of seats, so those who aren't taking more than 5 people along on the trip can fold the last row to increase cargo space like we did. It's perfect for camping trips and weekends at the beach. We packed a LOT of stuff and the Outlander didn’t disappoint.
Safety Features
Safety should always be the number one priority when you are driving around with your loved ones and this is something I pay careful attention to. Mitsubishi understands this all too well. The company has made the 2015 Outlander one of the safest cars in its class with premium features including lane-departure warning and a forward-collision mitigation system. The former is especially handy on long highways during extensive road trips as it is easy to get distracted out of exhaustion. As we approached the campgrounds, there were quite a few occasions where we had to cross over the center lane due to cars parked on very narrow roads.The audible warnings were very helpful and made us confident that if this were a true case of fatigue and accidentally veering out of a lane, we would hear the warning with the hope of preventing an accident. The latter safety feature is designed to reduce the impact of frontal collisions or avoid them completely if possible.
Off-Road Abilities
The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT features all-wheel driving. AWD is always welcome when you are driving beyond the city unto roads that may not be as smooth as pavement. It helps vehicles stay out of sticky situations on gnarly terrain. It also increases traction on slippery roads which is vital when powering through rain and snow. AWD makes it easier to maintain control over the vehicle for peace of mind when you are stuck out there in bad weather. The car will still be responsive and allow you to avoid accidents. I can see how this feature can come in real handy after the brutal winter we had here in the Northeast.

Mitsubishi is so confident in the durability and performance of this crossover SUV that they are providing their customers with a 10-year powertrain limited warranty that covers up to 100,000 miles. This is right up there with the best guarantees in the automotive industry which speaks volumes about the Outlander. Getting the Outlander GT with the Touring Package has additional perks including a power sunroof, power tailgate, leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control, navigation equipment, and power driver's seat. There is even a Rockford Fosgate sound system that audiophiles will surely appreciate. Family summer adventures will never have a dull moment with great music blasting out from the 710W system with 9 speakers and even a bass-pumping subwoofer.
