Trying Out The New #AmazonCart Technology

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias #cbias.

Anyone who knows me has heard me babble on and on about how much I love Amazon.com. In fact, I am always amazed and in disbelief when someone tells me that they have never shopped at Amazon.  What???  How is that even possible?

Anyways, my love affair with Amazon started back in the year 2000.  I guess you can say that I’m a early adopter.  Ecommerce was a pretty new thing back then, but I was ready to explore.  I remember signing up for both Amazon and eBay that year, both of whom were among the first online companies where you could easily check out electronically.

Back then, Amazon was basically known as a place where you could buy mostly books, CD’s and movies.  In fact, my very first order included a Harry Potter book and some Pokemon cards (why??).

Over the years, Amazon has evolved.  They have move beyond being known as a glorified bookstore and now sell just about everything you can imagine.  This is why I love them.  I buy just about everything on their and since the year 2000, I have placed over 1000 orders from them (1018 to be exact!). They have also advanced technologically, from developing their own ereader and tablet, to offering streaming movies they have been on the cutting edge of technology.

Their newest latest technological offering known as #AmazonCart is truly revolutionary.  I spend a lot of time on Twitter.  I follow a few deal bloggers and just about every day I see tweets featuring cool items from Amazon.  I would love to check them all out, but there’s not enough time in the day to do so. At best, I would click through to at least quickly take a look at the item they tweeted about, but it usually ends there.  This is where #AmazonCart can help to make it easier to go back to these items I see being tweeted out.

What is #AmazonCart?

#AmazonCart is a system that allows you to add Amazon products to your cart without having to leave your twitter feed.

How does #AmazonCart work?

First, you need to connect your Amazon and Twitter accounts. To connect your accounts, you’ll need to log in to your Amazon account and click on “Your Account.” Once you are in your account, scroll all the way down to the Personalization section and click on “Your Social Settings.”  From there, you will be able to connect your Twitter Account to your Amazon Account.

Once connected, any time you see a tweet with an Amazon product link, just hit reply and add the #AmazonCart hashtag and the item will be waiting in your cart the next time you visit Amazon.

I recently got a new MacBook Pro for work.  I wanted to get a case for it to protect it so of course I turned to Amazon.  I browsed a ton of items and made sure to find items that were eligible for Amazon Prime so that they could arrive quickly.  Eventually I found a few items I loved and decided to try out the new #AmazonCart technology.

As you can see, I replied to Amazon using the #AmazonCart hashtag and within minutes, the items appeared in my cart.

I opted for the Amazon Prime 2 day shipping option and my items arrived quickly.  I’m always happy to see boxes from Amazon waiting for me at my doorstep.

The exact items I wanted, are the exact items I received. After trying out this new technology, I am happy to say that #AmazonCart is a very innovative way to shop.  It’s easy, quick and perfect to busy moms like me. Learn more about the technology by watching this video.
