As a Jenkinson's Family Ambassador I have been provided with Vouchers for my visits. All opinions expressed are my own. #JenksAmbassador
If you are looking for a fun place to bring your kids this summer, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in New Jersey is a great place to choose. Located in the heart of the Jersey Shore near Point Pleasant Beach, this place has everything a family needs for a great day of fun and relaxation. It is less than a two hour drive from major cities such as New York, Philadelphia and Atlantic City, making it easily accessible. My family and I recently visited and had a blast.
Jenkinson's is located on a mile and a half of privately owned and maintained beach front property, which is known for its beauty and cleanliness. Jenkinson's beach is also a safe swimming area protected by the facility's private lifeguards. The Boardwalk itself is the hub of activity here, and there is no shortage of things to do and see.
The Boardwalk is approximately a mile long on the Jersey Shore with a wide array of activities for your family. You can visit Jenkinson's Aquarium to see such animal exhibits as sharks, penguins and seals.
There are batting cages, as well as a variety of shops that you can visit. Your kids will love playing in one of the four arcades, which offers a variety of the best video games and racing games. They can also try their hand at shooting some NBA Hoops for prizes. Z.E.N. tried it out and scored a prize.
What else can you do at Jenkinson’s? Keep reading!
Play mini golf at Castaway Cove and explore the two shipwreck adventure sites such as the bay course with it caves and waterfalls, or the Crow's nest with its amazing aerial views and plant life.
There is also a thrilling Fun House with a maze of mirror and glowing lights. Get lost in the twists and turns or laugh at yourselves in the distorted mirrors.
But Jenkinson's Boardwalk isn't just for kids. Adults will find plenty to do and lots of opportunities to relax and unwind. The Boardwalk has a lively party scene with high-energy music from the Jenks Club, one of the best hot spots on the Jersey Shore. See the best live bands perform and the hottest DJs providing entertainment all summer long.
If amusement parks are what you love, there's no need to travel to Disney World or Busch Gardens; try the Jenkinson's South Amusement Park instead. With several exciting rides for all ages, such as the Wave Swinger, the Himalaya, and Moby Dick rides, there is sure to be something for everyone. There are also carousels, convoys races and boardwalk games that children will love.
There are also many activities taking place during the season which you won't want to miss. You can see the Flying Mueller Brothers performing every Sunday afternoon during the summer months, or join Movies on the Beach which is held near the Pavilion every Friday evening from June to September for great family flicks. If you love Halloween but can't wait until October 31, come to the Boardwalk in August for Hot Halloween for three days of family fun with costumes, games, magic shows and treats.
What is also great about the boardwalk is that there is so much to offer in the area, such as attending a minor league baseball game, watching horse racing at a nearby track, or catching a concert or show at a local theater. If you love golf, there are several great golf courses in the area. If fishing is your thing, you can charter a fishing boat from the boardwalk or even go parasailing if you're feeling very adventurous. You can also visit the Breakwater Beach Waterpark which is a short drive from the boardwalk.
If all of this fun and excitement makes you hungry, you can satisfy your appetite at one of the many concession stands on the boardwalk, or enjoy a leisurely oceanside meal.
If you have a sweet tooth, you will definitely want to stop by the boardwalk's Sweet Shop, which offers an array of tempting treats, such as taffy, homemade fudge and caramel apple. You can also purchase a gift basket for someone special. If you miss these treats when you leave, don't worry; you can order from the Sweet Shop online.
Getting tickets for the boardwalk is easy; you can purchase them directly from their website, or top up your e-musement card, which is their cashless ticketing system that visitors can use at arcades, rides and attractions.
If you're visiting from out of town, they also make it very easy for you to plan your trip. You can find accommodations with no problem by using their list of nearby hotels and motels posted on their website with helpful contact information. You can even sign up for their newsletter to stay updated on all the latest events and activities. With so much fun awaiting you, you'll want to make Jenkinson's Boardwalk the number one spot for your family's vacation.
