How To Make Perfect Popcorn Every Time

This post about the Perfect Popcorn app is sponsored by Pop Secret, but opinions are 100% my own.

Popcorn and a movie can make for a fun evening at home with the family. It sounds easy right? Usually it is, but every now and then, we wind up burning the popcorn. There are few things that can be as frustrating to deal with as burned popcorn right before a big movie event. First of all, we have to deal with that burnt popcorn smell. It's awful, and it lingers. Secondly, the movie gets delayed. Lastly, the whole mood is ruined.

When it comes to microwave popcorn, it's not always easy to get it right. With so many different brands of popcorn and types of microwaves being used, result can vary. However, thanks to a recently developed app, you can enjoy perfect popcorn every time.

The Perfect Pop app is designed to help users figure out exactly when the best time is to take the popcorn out of their microwaves. Often, the problem with microwaving your popcorn is that you can’t watch it cook. You have to rely on your hearing to determine when you have to remove the bag from the heat, and often you will not be able to tell if it is burning until it is too late. Pop Secret developed the mobile app to help their customers figure out when the popcorn had reached its optimal cooking point.

The way the device works is not very different from how you would usually determine if your popcorn is ready. You set your app close to the microwave and it listens to the sounds that the popcorn makes. Depending on what it picks up, the device will then tell you whether or not your popcorn is ready, and when you should remove it from your microwave.

I was skeptical at first, but the app really works. All popcorn sounds the same when it cooks: it begins to pop slowly, speeding up, then slowing down again after most of the popcorn has been popped.  The app uses this to find the best point to tell you when to stop cooking, resulting in a perfect bowl of popcorn!
