How To Boost Your Home’s Curb Appeal

Boost curb appeal

This post and images about how to boost your home's curb appeal are brought to you by James Hardie products. Opinions shared are 100% mine.

There is a lot of competition when you're selling your home. The best way to get a sale is to price your home right. However, it's also important to make your house seem as appealing as possible. This is accomplished by improving both the interior and the exterior of your home. In fact, the exterior might be even more important. If a potential buyer doesn't think your home has curb appeal, the person may not even want to take a look inside your home.

How to Boost Curb Appeal

If you have the budget, you can hire a home staging expert. These professionals visit your home, look it over, and offer suggestion and advice on how to improve the look of your home to entice more prospective buyers. Home staging involves making changes to both the interior and exterior of a house.

Another way to make your home more attractive to buyers is to redo the siding. My neighbors recently did this.  Seeing their results has us wanting to re-do our siding as well, so we’ve been looking into it. There are several materials used for siding, but fiber cement siding offers many advantages over other materials. One well-known manufacturer is James Hardie. The company makes fiber cement siding that is long lasting, fire resistant, and resists mold.

Their ColorPlus® Technology offers pre-painted fiber cement siding. Another option is to have the siding professionally painted using the extensive siding color palette.  The James Hardie Home Color Tool helps you to find a great combination of colors for the exterior of your home.  Using the right combination of colors can really make your house stand out.

The colors are gorgeous!  I really like the blues and the grey and can see my home in one of these colors. I also love the fact that this siding comes with a 15-year warranty against peeling, cracking and chipping for peace of mind.

Another way to boost curb appeal and to make your home more  inviting is to clean up the front yard, backyard and garage by removing debris, junk or other clutter. You want the exterior to look neat and tidy. It's also a good idea to politely ask your neighbors to also clean up their front and back yards. Having neighbors with attractive lawns helps you sell your home. Mowing the lawn also helps. Landscaping is a big part of making the exterior of your home look good. You could hire a landscape architect to add shrubs or flower pots to the yard.

It's difficult to sell a home in any housing market, so you need to do all you can to boost curb appeal and attract buyers.
