IHealth HS3 Bluetooth Body Scale Review

Swimsuit season is quickly approaching, so it’s time for me to start getting bikini ready! I’m not overweight, but I have put on a few pounds this winter that I need to get rid of. I have been trying to monitor my weight, but my scale, which I’ve had for almost ten years is not very reliable anymore. Luckily, Best Buy sent me a new one to try out.

iHealth HS3 Bluetooth body scale

This is not your ordinary scale. The iHealth the HS3 Bluetooth Body Scale is slim, sleek, and overall very aesthetically pleasing. It has a smooth glass top, a metallic finish, and is surprisingly lightweight due to the plastic backing. Inside the plastic backing is where you will find the battery compartment (it takes four AAA batteries).

The scale is very easy to use. Simply stepping onto the scale activates it and your weight will be displayed on the digital screen within a few seconds. No buttons to push, no confusing startup, and no reference information or settings to enter.

This scale not only weighs you, it tracks your weight over time. The device works with an app that you can download for free on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. It then uses Bluetooth connectivity to record, send, and track your calorie intake and exercise progression along with your weight.

In order to track your weight overtime, you have to first download the iHealth app from iTunes. Once the app is installed, you have to turn the scale on and then go into the settings on your mobile device and manually pair the two devices. Please note that you will have to pair the two devices every single time you want to use and update the app. For some reason, it took me a couple of tries to connect via Bluetooth, but it did eventually connect.

Once you’re connected, you can then start tracking your weight. In fact, multiple users can create their own accounts on the same device to see their own personal weight fluctuations and progress, but you have to be okay with other users being able to view your reports. There is also a feature that allows you to e-mail your weight to other people so they can help keep you motivated.

So far I really like this scale. I love the high tech look, and love the weight tracking feature. This will surely help me track my goals in getting bikini ready for the summer!
