It is also the destination of a lot of diplomats from other countries since it is the de facto capital of the European Union. It is also the headquarters of the international organization, NATO. The following are the top places to visit when you travel to this city.

The Grand Place – This is considered to be the central square of the city. It is in this place where tourists will be able to see numerous ancient buildings. It is in this square where the Brussels Town Hall could be seen. This structure is three hundred and fifteen fit tall. One of its famous features is the statue of Saint Michael killing a demon. The Grand Place is the most historic landmark in the city and that is why it UNESCO considered it as a World Heritage Site.

Comic Museum – Every year, thousands of comic book lovers from all over the world visit the Comic Museum. The comic books which could be found in this museum were made by over seven hundred authors. Of course, Belgium is where famous comic book characters, Tintin and the Smurfs, were created.

Chez Leon – A trip to Brussels will not be complete without dining in Chez Leon. This institution has been around for more than a century and has been serving great Belgian dishes since it was established. Chez Leon features famous Belgian mussels and French fries. This place is also very popular for various mouth-watering delicious seafood dishes. Chez Leon is located near a lot of cheap hotels Brussels.

Parc du Cinquantenaire – The English name of this park is “Park of the Fiftieth Anniversary.” It is a very huge public park which has an area of about thirty hectares. The most popular site in this park is the triumphal arc which was built in 1905. It is made of various materials including stone, glass, and iron. The park is a scenic place dominated by gardens, waterfalls, and ponds. The Cinquantenaire is definitely one of the best parks that anybody will ever see in Europe.

Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium – Royal Museum, the main building is connected with four other museums. The main museum has a collection of more than twenty thousand paintings and sculptures which have been made through the years. Some of the artworks were made in the fifteenth century.
