Self Care Tips For Busy MomsAs moms, we often tend to everyone else in the family and neglect our own well-being, appearance and self-care. But even as a busy mom, it’s important to invest in your own appearance and self-care. For me, looking great translates to feeling great. Taking some time to take care of yourself not only makes a huge difference in how you feel, but also makes a significant difference in parenting. This is why I wanted to present you with these self care tips for busy moms.

Take Care of Your Body

I am definitely not a morning person, but I find that getting up a little earlier gives me a little alone time before having to dive into the whole get-ready-for-school routine. It’s also a great time to get a quick workout in. Being physically active and eating a balanced diet can help you to maintain good health which will enable you to take better care of your loved ones.

Take a Break

Being a mom is a full-time job. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take a break once in a while. No matter how tight your schedule is, it’s really important to make some time in the day just for yourself. Find at least 10-15 minutes to do something on your own. Take a bath or hot shower, shut off your phone and computer and just sit quietly or meditate, listen to your favorite cd, watch your favorite show. do some coloring or read a few pages of a book. Look for an activity that relaxes your mind and find a way to work it into your daily routine.

Get a Massage

Life can get very stressful. That’s why you should consider massage therapy as it has the benefit of relieving stress.  I always feel great after getting a massage, but I don’t get them often. However, making massage therapy an integral part of your healthy routine, like detoxifying, and working out is key.  Other benefits of massage include lowering anxiety and depression, relieving headache and back pain, reducing cancer symptoms and reducing muscle tension. Look Good

Some days I’m so busy that I don’t really put much thought into what I’m wearing or how I look.  I just throw on some jeans and a t-shirt, push my hair back into a ponytail or bun and keep it moving.  Nonetheless, looking good is an essential part of the self-care process. Investing some time and effort to to accentuate your assets and minimize your flaws can make a huge difference in how you feel.

Get Your Rest

I have the hardest time falling asleep so getting enough sleep has not been easy for me, but it’s something that I am working on. This may be somewhat of a tall order if you’re a new mom, but you can always try to steal a nap while the baby has dozed off. Sleep deprivation can cause a lot of stress and negatively affect your health.

Implementing these self care tips for busy moms can leave you vibrant with energy and feeling good about yourself. A few tips will see your days change for the better. Not only do you stand to benefit, but it will also have a positive impact on those around you.
