On our recent trip to Lancaster County, PA we decided to stay at the Fulton Steamboat Inn Fulton Lancaster PA.
We chose this particular hotel because:
- It had excellent reviews on TripAdvisor
- It was unique
- It’s location – it was close to all the other attractions we wanted to visit.
The hotel is shaped like an actual old fashioned steamboat.
I bet you’re wondering why the hotel is built in the shape of a steamboat. I was curious as well and discovered that the hotel is actually a tribute to Robert Fulton.
Robert Fulton is recognized for developing the first commercially successful steamboat.
Check in was a breeze and took only a few minutes, so we were off to our room in no time. Our room was on the first floor and was situated very close to the pool. One of my biggest concerns whenever I stay at a hotel is cleanliness. I can happily say that the room was spotless. The only thing I did notice was that there was a damp musty smell upon entering the room.
The room we stayed in had 2 queen beds which was perfect for us.
The in-room amenities were as follows:
- 32″ Flat Panel LCD Television
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Blu-Ray DVD Player
- AM-FM clock radio
- Direct dial phone
- Hair dryers
- Irons and Ironing board
- Coffeemakers
- Fully ADA Accessible
The hotel offered lots of other amenities, most notably:
A heated indoor pool and whirlpool.
A duck and Koi feeding pond.
A Playground.
A Fire-pit & Patio area
They also offer the following:
- The Emporium Gift Shoppe
- Adult Fitness Center
- Electronic Game Room
- Meeting and Banquet Facility
- Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access
- Coin-Operated Guest Laundry
- Elevator
We also had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast at Huckleberry’s Restaurant and Tavern.
We all ordered the cinnamon swirled French toast and not only was it generously portioned, it was absolutely delicious!
We really enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to stay here again as it is a wonderful, family friendly hotel.
Here are a few tips you should keep in mind when planning your trip to the Fulton Steamboat Inn:
- The 3rd floor is for adults only, has private balconies, and is supposedly a quiet floor. (I must note though, that I didn’t hear a lot of noise on the 1st floor.)
- All kids are given a First Mate cap upon checking into the hotel. If they wear their cap to dinner, they will receive a complimentary ice cream sundae.
- Upon checking in to the hotel they also provide 2 little bags of duck food so you can feed the ducks.
- They offer AAA and AARP discounts
