Coloring Books For Grown Ups: Stress Relief With Crayons

Life can be very stressful at times.  No matter how much we try to relax, sometimes, achieving an utterly relaxed state of mind isn't always easy. Practicing mindfulness and relaxation, however, is probably the best ways to get rid of stress. What would you say if I told you I found a good way to get rid of stress?  It’s true!  What is this great method?  Coloring books for grown-ups!

Coloring Books for Grown Ups

If you take a look inside a coloring book designed for adults. You won't see cute images of cuddly pets or unicorns and elves. Instead, you’ll find that the artistry is sophisticated and detailed. Coloring books for grown-ups are drawn with the assumption that adults can color within narrow lines and manage ornate, complicated patterns. They are also created with the belief that art can be a stress reliever.

Are you ready to try this stress-busting pastime?  I’ve put together a short list of adult coloring books to help get you started!

Filled with delicate blossoms and a vast array of Japanese-inspired patterns and motifs, this book is just complex enough to be utterly engrossing without causing frustration. Best of all, the pages are bound across the top rather than down the middle. This makes it ideal for both left-handed and right-handed people.

  • This seems to be a big present this year. There was a whole section of these at our AC Moore this season.

  • Have you seen the adult puzzles? SO COOL!!!! We get a family puzzle every year, and this year’s puzzle is like these coloring books (also from AC Moore). The puzzle will be a challenge to put together — just black and white. I’m excited to see how it looks once it’s colored.

  • I’m loving this new coloring book trend. I’ve always loved to stop and color with my kids, it’s so relaxing. I hope I get a grown up book for Christmas.
