No Time To Read? Try Audible!

I absolutely love to read. It’s one of my favorite pastimes. Even so, lately it’s been extremely hard to find the time to read. Luckily, I have discovered Audible. This service first appeared over two decades ago, when most book readings were still sold on cassette tapes. Today, it has become one of the most popular ways to hear books. Users listened to nearly 1.2 billion hours of audio during 2014. It’s easy to use. I like that I now have time to read again, as I can “read” audiobooks while I’m driving around doing errands.

When you log into Audible, you can access a tremendous assortment of books and major daily newspapers. They range from modern titles like “Game of Thrones” to timeless classics, such as Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” One popular new title is “The Underground Railroad.” It was authored by well-known writer Colson Whitehead. This book was released in early August, 2016 and was recommended by Oprah’s Book Club. It has earned an average customer rating of 4.3 stars. Listeners will hear a suspenseful story about a teenage girl who escaped slavery. Oprah Winfrey describes it as an especially “powerful” and “gripping” book.

Audible is a leading provider of premium digital spoken audio information and entertainment on the Internet. The audio recordings play on many different devices, including iPhone, iPod, Kindle, some GPS units, Macintosh computers, and Windows PCs. Android and Windows Phone apps are available as well. I like the fact that they offer audio samples which let you decide if you like the book and the narrator before you purchase.

Their customer service is really great. They have something called the Great Listen Guarantee. This is a membership benefit that allows you to return audiobooks you are unsatisfied with for any reason. If you are not satisfied with the reading quality or find other problems with a book recording, you can also freely exchange it for another title. It is also easy to cancel, upgrade or suspend an Audible account at any time.

There are a number of membership plans that you can choose between and as a member, you’ll gain access to special price reductions. Anyone can buy “The Underground Railroad” or any book from and listen to it for a fee. However, it is possible to obtain the recording for free if you sign up for a 30-day trial of the service. After the first month, you will pay a monthly subscription fee of $14.95. This price includes one audiobook download every month. The membership enables you to save considerable amounts of money, and you can keep all downloaded books if you cancel.

To sum it up, an Audible account gives you affordable access to high-quality recordings of many different periodicals and books. This well-established service carries titles ranging from “Capital” to “Food: A Love Story.” You can hear popular new books less than a month after publication. To get started, sign up for a 30-day trial and download a free audiobook today.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Audible. The opinions and text are all mine.
