Getting out of the Breakfast Rut With New Choices In Breakfast For Kids

Mornings at my house are very hectic.  Because of this, I try to keep breakfast on weekday mornings as simple, easy and quick as possible. For Z.E.N., Breakfast typically consists of either a bowl of Cheerios, or whole wheat toast with butter, but he recently complained about eating the same thing every day so I have to try to add a few more offerings to the mix.

The biggest priority for me is to serve a breakfast that is both convenient and healthy, and also something that I do not have to prepare from scratch, because I really don’t have the time in the morning. I also need something that Z.E.N. will actually eat.  So I turned to Aunt Jemima. An Aunt Jemima frozen breakfast offers all of these benefits, and more.

Using only the finest ingredients, Aunt Jemima does the work for you. They state that every batch is made from scratch, form real bread milk and eggs, just like you’d make them at home, but without all the time commitment and effort that comes with it.Within minutes, your kids will have a nutrition-packed breakfast to start the day.

The new Aunt Jemima frozen breakfast Lil’ Griddles line  offers a few different varieties to choose from. One favorite is the Aunt Jemima Lil’ Griddles Cinnamon French Toast sticks. It’s only 260 calories per serving, and it contains the protein, calcium, and iron your kids need for good health.  You can also choose plain buttermilk pancakes, Mini Blueberry Pancakes.

Did they pass my quick and easy test? Yes, with flying colors!  You can prepare them 3 different ways, using a toaster oven, conventional oven or microwave. On the packaging, it states that the preferred method is via the toaster oven, but since I don’t have a toaster oven, I opted to prepare the French Toast Sticks in the oven.  I popped them in for 7 minutes and voila, they were done!

The next question of course, though, is whether Z.E.N. would eat them.
