Lunchbox Snacks For Kids

School opens in just under two-weeks for us here in New Jersey so I really need to start thinking about school lunches and lunchbox snacks. Although his school offers hot lunch, I prefer to pack my own healthy lunch for him. The issue I run into is finding new meal and snack ideas so that his lunch doesn’t get too boring. Sure, there are a lot of snacks out there, but as a parent, I try my hardest to avoid snacks that are loaded with saturated fats and high fructose corn syrup. Yes, sometimes Z.E.N. does have the junk food snacks, but those occasions are very rare.

I recently learned that Horizon Organic, now makes snacks.  I always thought that Horizon only created milk products, but that is not the case. Horizon Organic Snacks and dairy products are made with natural ingredients grown on their many farms, conforming to their philosophy about healthy living and eating right. Their organic snacks contain important nutrients like calcium, protein, whole grains, vitamins, and potassium to keep body and mind strong and healthy. Z.E.N. loves crackers, so I picked up some of their sandwich crackers and snack crackers.  I also picked up some of their milk boxes. I love that even though their products are organic, they are affordable.  Of course Z.E.N. had to try them out right away and he  gave them a thumbs up.  Now I just have to make sure he doesn’t eat them all before school starts!
